Dipika Pallikal Karthik was born on 21-09-1991 in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. She is an Indian squash player. She became the first Indian to enter the top 10 of the PSA women’s rankings. She won this award in 2012.

Early Life of Dipika Pallikal Karthik

Dipika Pallikal Karthik attended Good Shepherd and Lady Andal School in Chennai. She attended Ethiraj College in Chennai. She competed in his first international competition in London when She was studying in the sixth grade.

After that, She won various tournaments at the European Junior Tour level. After turning pro at the age of 15 in 2006, She captured her first WISPA title in 2011 by winning the Orange County Open held in Irvine, California.

She also became the first Indian player to qualify for the fourth round of the World Squash Open. She was a member of the prestigious India Cements Squash Academy in Chennai in 2002 and became the national champion at the age of 11. In total, She won eleven titles including Australian Open, French Open, Dutch Open and German Open among others.

She became the first Indian player to enter the PSA’s top 10 rankings.

For her excellence in sports, She received the Arjuna Award and the Padma Shri Award from the Government of India. She has acted in various campaigns. She also got movies but turned them all down. She is arguably one of the most glamorous Indian players.

Dipika Pallikal Karthik first participated in an international competition in London when She was in sixth form. She went on to win several tournaments on the European Junior Squash Tour. She came a member of the India Cements Squash Academy in 2002, after which he became a national champion at the age of 11.

She became a professional player in 2006, but her performance was inconsistent at first. However, in early 2011 she had a brief training stint in Egypt, which greatly increased her ability to deliver winning performances. She had started 2011 in 29th place and was in the limelight in December after winning 3 major WISPA tour titles to acquire a first class rating of 17 which made her the highest ranked Indian squash player of all time, surpassing former national champion Misha. Grewal’s 27th rank in 1995.

She finished in the top eight at the World Open, which took him to 14th in February 2012.
In December 2012, She became the first Indian athlete to reach the top 10. Along the way, She became the first Indian to reach the top of a Silver event, the first to reach the semi-finals of a Gold event, and help. 2012- Pallikal contributed her best effort to the Indian team which finished fifth in the Women’s Squash Championship. He became the first Indian squash player to win the prestigious Arjuna Award.


2013- Sh won the Macau Squash Open and Meadowood Pharmacy Open titles. 2014 – At the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, she and Joshna Chinappa won India’s first medal in the women’s doubles event. After the win, Dipika received the fourth highest civilian honor “Padma Shri” for her outstanding performance in the sport.

In the same year, Dipika also won silver and bronze medals in singles and singles at the Asian Games.
2015- Dipika won the Winnipeg Winter Club Open which was her 10th title on the tour. 2016- Dipika played a key role in the Indian women’s team to win gold in the Asian Games and also won the 11th PSA title by dominating the Australian Open. She won the national championship for the second time by defeating Joshna Chinappa.

2017- She won the silver medal in singles at the Asian Singles Championships.
2018- In Commonwealth Games 2018, Dipika won silver medal in women’s doubles and mixed singles. In the same year, he won the bronze medal in the team category at the Asian Games.
