Actress and director Konkona Sen Sharma was born on December 3, 1979. She acts in Hindi and Bengali films. She was awarded two National Awards and four Filmfare Awards. Sen Sharma is an actress and director’s daughter. She is best known for his work in small independent films. Due to his success in parallel cinema, She is now one of the most famous actors working today. She was also praised for his work in films that did well at the box office, such as Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.

Early life

Her father Mukul Sharma is a science writer and journalist and his mother Aparna Sen an actress and director. She has an older sister, Kamalini Chatterjee. Sen Sharma’s grandfather, Chidananda Dasgupta, was a film critic, academic, teacher, writer and one of the founders of the Calcutta Film Society.

Her maternal grandmother Supriya Dasgupta is the niece of the famous modern Bengali poet Jibanananda Das Sen Sharma who earned a degree in English from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, from which she graduated in 2001. She is a student at Modern Girls High School. Sen Sharma’s grandfather, Chidananda Dasgupta, was a film critic, academic, teacher, writer and one of the founders of the Calcutta Film Society. His maternal grandmother Supriya Dasgupta is the niece of the famous Bengali actor Dasgupta.

She made his debut at the age of four as a child artist in the film Indira. Sharma made his debut in Bengali film, thriller Ek Je Aachhe Kanya in 2000. However, he made a name for himself in the English movie Mr. and Mrs. Iyer which appeared in 2002. The film was directed by her mother and she was not only seen but also received the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.

She then appeared in the full Hindi film Madhur Bhandarkar’s Page 3 which brought his audience well. Since then she has appeared in many films, many of which have received critical acclaim. She has won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress award twice for her work in Omkara and Life in a Metro. While in a relationship with actor Ranvir Shorey, they got married in 2010. After going through many ups and downs in their relationship, they got divorced in 2016.

Personal life

Konkona Sen Sharma started dating actor Ranvir Shorey in 2007. The couple got married on September 3, 2010 in a private ceremony. “Times of India” reported that Sen Sharma gave birth to her first child, Haroon, on March 15, 2011 at a hospital in South Mumbai.

Sen Sharma and Shorey announced their separation in September 2015. They are still friends and share their son. The couple later divorced on August 13, 2020. In March 2022, Sen Sharma said that she had always felt “gender neutral” and did not consider herself to be either male or female, adding and nature is a taught concept. which it does not spread.
